El Viña Tondonia Reserva 2005 es un coupage de 70 Tempranillo, 20 Garnacho, 5 Graciano y 5 Mazuelo procedentes de sus viñedos en el meandro del río Ebro, donde tienen unas 100 hectáreas de viñedo. El vino fermenta en las tinas de roble originales que tienen ya unos 140 años. No hay control de temperatura y la maloláctica también se hizo en la cuba. El vino se trasladó a barricas de roble donde maduró lentamente en sus profundas y húmedas cuevas durante nada menos que seis años. Después de esto, se embotelló sin filtrar tras ser clarificado con claras de huevo. Creo que la diferencia de calidad entre el Reserva y el Gran Reserva se ha ido reduciendo desde la añada 2001 y este 2005 es nada menos que excepcional. Es limpio y complejo, con más frescura. El vino es muy especiado y con un paladar que se siente muy equilibrado, más vivo que en el pasado. Tiene un final largo donde los sabores son limpios. Fácil de beber y muy placentero. En 2005 se produjeron unas 250.000 botellas.
