Sourced from four plots within the same lieu-dit in Vertus, the 2017 Extra-Brut Blanc de Blancs Monts Ferrés was disgorged in June 2024 with 0.8 grams per liter dosage. The richest and most powerful wine in the cellar this year, it derives from vines heavily affected by le court-noué virus, delivering fruit with more concentrated flavors and higher maturity. Vinified in oak and aged under cork, it is full-bodied and gourmand, soaring from the glass with aromas of plum, red apple and toasted hazelnut. Demonstrative and broad, balanced by vibrant acidity, it has a slightly autumnal character and is less focused than Voie d'Oger, the other lieu-dit bottling, which benefits from the 2016 vintage in this tasting.
