Description

The story of Louis Jadot Chambolle Musigny 1er Cru Les Feusselottes is born from the commitment of the maison Louis Jadot to the purest expression of the Burgundian terroir. In the heart of Chambolle Musigny, in the Côte de Nuits, lies the "Les Feusselottes" estate, whose name evokes small cavities or hollows in the ground, right in the centre of the village, where the soil is chalky, clayey and densely stony. The winery, faithful to its philosophy of minimum intervention and maximum respect for the vineyard, decided to vinify this Premier Cru as a mirror of the place: a BurgundyPinot Noir that speaks more of its origin than of its technique. The grapes are harvested by hand, in small crates, and each cluster is meticulously selected. It was a bold decision to maintain this artisanal approach, despite its greater demands, in order to keep the identity of the vineyard intact.

Winemaking

The grapes destined for Louis Jadot Chambolle Musigny 1er Cru Les Feusselottes are completely destemmed before entering open oak or stainless steel vats, where they macerate for 3 to 4 weeks. During fermentation, pigéage (manual pumping-over) is carried out twice a day, ensuring a controlled and fruit-friendly extraction. The wine is then aged for 18 months in French oak barrels, with approximately one third new wood, providing structure without overpowering the natural finesse of the Pinot Noir.

Taste

The aromatic profile of Louis Jadot Chambolle Musigny 1er Cru Les Feusselottes is elegant, subtly complex. It displays a nose of fresh red fruits - cherry, raspberry - intertwined with floral notes of violet, rose petals and a mineral undertone reminiscent of wet chalk and graphite. The palate is precise, medium-bodied, with polished tannins and well-balanced acidity that lends tension and freshness. There are layers of blackcurrant, mild spice and an earthy echo that lingers on the finish. This is not a wine that seeks immediate prominence, but one that unfolds slowly, with elegance and firm minerality. Ideal for those who appreciate the subtlety of Burgundy Pinot Noir, this wine is pure Burgundy at its most refined.
