Vineyards
Casa Agrícola's vineyards extend over some 45 hectares of land in Alicante, surrounded by a natural environment of great beauty and a terroir that offers ideal conditions for growing high quality grapes. The choice of soil is fundamental in viticulture, and in this case, the chalky, clay soil brings a mineral complexity to the wines produced here. Casa Agricola focuses mainly on low-yielding Mediterranean varieties, mostly from its own dry vineyards. These vines, mostly planted in the traditional goblet system, are between 40 and 77 years old. The plots "Serra Forta", "El Veneno" and "Los Burros" are located in the highlands of the Alto Vinalopó region, distributed between Sierra Salinas and Pinoso. These 10 hectares produce Monastrell, Alicante Bouchet, Syrah, Airén and Macabeo. On the other hand, the plots "Benimei" and "Abargues" in Pla de Lliber are located in the Marina Alta region, influenced by the sea, and these 12 hectares produce Moscatel de Alejandría and Giró.
The climate of the Alicante region is Mediterranean, with mild winters and hot, dry summers. This combination of climatic factors, together with the altitude of the vineyards, which ranges between 550 and 650 metres above sea level, creates an ideal microclimate for the cultivation of indigenous grape varieties.
