Trediberri, which translates as "the three of Berri", is a winery located in Berri, a small hamlet in the westernmost part of La Morra, right next to the Tanaro river, at the western end of the Barolo region.
History
This winery was born in 2007 when Nicola, his father Federico and his friend Vladimiro acquired 5 hectares dedicated exclusively to the production of Barolo. Although they started marketing their wines in 2011, today they manage 8 hectares of vineyards. In addition to the 5 hectares in Berri, they own about 2 hectares in Rocche dell'Annunziata and Torriglione, where they grow Barbera and Sauvignon Blanc. They also rent about one hectare of Nebbiolo in Capalot, also in La Morra.
Federico Oberto is a central figure in Trediberri. He fondly remembers when he met his mentor, Renato Ratti, in 1970. He worked at the Ratti winery until 2005, when he retired, only to realise how much he missed the world of wine and decided to embark on the Trediberri project. Vladimiro Rambaldi, on the other hand, is a banker by profession and a winegrower by passion, while Nicola Oberto, despite not having studied oenology, constantly learns from his father and is an integral part of the winery.
Vineyards
Trediberri works with approximately 10 hectares of vineyards, mainly in La Morra and a small part in Vicoforte, at the southern end of the Langhe. The vineyards include: Berri, 5 hectares located at the western end of the Barolo region, near the Tanaro river; Capalot, 1.2 hectares rented since 2012 in the eastern part of La Morra; Torriglione, approximately 2 hectares around the winery, cultivated with Barbera and Nebbiolo; Rocche dell'Annunziata, 1.3 hectares in front of Borgata Torriglione; and Bricco Mollea, in Vicoforte, 3 hectares cultivated with Dolcetto at the southern end of the Langhe, 600 metres above sea level, at the foot of the Ligurian Alps.
Philosophy
Trediberri focuses on the idea that wine should be enjoyed. For them, the best recognition is a bottle that is finished quickly. However, their concept of "drinkability" is not based on simplicity, but on balance. They do not follow dogmas or strict protocols; sometimes they vinify in concrete, sometimes in wood or steel, depending on the vintage and grape variety. Their aim is to offer wines that are as balanced and drinkable as possible.
As for their wines, the Trediberri winery produces a variety that includes: Barolo del Comune di La Morra, Barolo Rocche dell'Annunziata DOCG, Barolo Berri DOCG, Langhe Nebbiolo DOC, Barbera d'Alba DOC and Dogliani DOCG Bricco Mollea.
