Buy Wine from Pura Vida
Pura Vida is the name of Rober and María's winery, a couple in love with their vineyard and their natural wines. They started their adventure back in 2012 in Fondón, Almería (Spain), and from the very beginning their goal was to work the land in the most respectful and ecological way possible.
Pura Vida Vineyard
Pura is the life that inhabits its fields. Pura is the grape that grows in their vineyards. The winemaking couple takes the utmost care of the terroir and intervenes little or nothing in the natural processes of the wine. Being located in a typical village of the Alta Alpujarra Almeriense, protected by the Sierra Nevada, Sierra de Gádor and the river Andarax, its clay soils are unique. An ecosystem, between soil and climate, which makes it ideal in the traditional history of wine.In this geographical location, there is little rainfall, many days of sunshine and large temperature changes between day and night. They have half a hectare for vinification and one hectare of local white grapes. At Pura Vida they do not use any chemical products, they do not irrigate. The fertiliser they use is the waste from the grape harvest and the livestock they use for weeding. Neither do they do any ploughing, in order to maintain the natural, sustainable balance and structure of the soil.
Wines of Pura Vida
This is where the power of smiles and love for life is manifested. The grapes are harvested when they are at the right moment of sugar and acidity, selected by hand and taken to the winery. There, they are destemmed and wait for the ideal time, the magic moment of its spontaneous natural fermentation. Their wines are not clarified or filtered. They let themselves be carried away by absolute trust in time and low temperatures, which will finish cleaning and decanting the wine. This is what making natural wines from an ecological point of view is all about. All the work at the Pura Vida winery is completely natural, from the harvesting of the grapes to the labelling and bottling.- ;
