Located in the heart of Sicily, Arianna Occhipinti 's winery has become an emblem of contemporary Sicilian viticulture. In the town of Vittoria, this winery has flourished and prospered, leaving an indelible mark on the region's wine landscape.
History
Founded in 2004, the winery is named after its founder, Arianna Occhipinti, a passionate winemaker who began her journey into the world of wine at the tender age of 16. Inspired by her uncle, renowned producer Giusto Occhipinti of the COS winery, Arianna decided to follow in his footsteps, but with a vision of her own. Over the years, she has worked in the family winery, gaining experience and knowledge that has led her to develop her own style and philosophy.
Vineyards
Arianna Occhipinti's vineyards spread majestically over 22 hectares of fertile land. Of these, 10 hectares are dedicated to olive groves, while the rest are vineyards producing grapes of exceptional quality. Located in the Monti Iblei region, these vineyards benefit from a unique terroir, combining limestone and clay soils. This combination, together with Sicily's Mediterranean climate, creates an ideal environment for growing grapes.
The region's climate, with its warm summers and mild winters, is ideal for viticulture. The influence of the Mediterranean Sea moderates the temperatures and brings a salty breeze that is reflected in the wines. In addition, the presence of the muretti a secco, traditional stone walls, not only adds beauty to the landscape, but also plays a crucial role in water management and soil conservation.
Philosophy
Arianna Occhipinti's philosophy is clear: to produce wines that faithfully reflect the terroir and the essence of where they come from. With a focus on organic and biodynamic practices, Arianna believes in the symbiosis between the vine and its environment. She avoids the use of chemical pesticides and herbicides, and instead, uses natural techniques to maintain the health of her vineyards.
In the winery, Arianna follows traditional winemaking methods. She avoids excessive intervention, allowing the wine to show its authentic character. The wines produced, such as SP68 Bianco, SP68 Rosso, Frappato, Siccagno, Grotte Alte and Passo nero, are testimony to her passion and dedication. Each bottle is a reflection of Sicily's land, climate and tradition.
In addition to her commitment to quality, Arianna is also dedicated to sustainability. She believes in the importance of working in harmony with nature and the need to preserve the environment for future generations. This philosophy is reflected not only in her viticultural practices but also in the way she manages her winery.
Testimony to a woman's love and dedication to the world of wine.
Through her natural approach and respect for the land, she has managed to produce wines that are not only delicious but also a true reflection of the land of Sicily. With each bottle, Arianna shares a piece of her heart and her homeland. It is an invitation to discover Sicily's rich winemaking tradition and to enjoy wines that are true works of art.
In a world where mass production and unsustainable practices are commonplace, wineries like Arianna Occhipinti's remind us of the importance of going back to basics, respecting the land and producing wines with integrity and passion. It is a reminder that wine is much more than a beverage; it is an expression of the land, tradition and the human spirit.
