Buy Wine from Marie et Vincent Tricot
Marie et Vincent Tricot is the name of both the natural wine cellar and the couple in charge of its production. Originally from Anjou, Loire, Vincent studied at the Beaujolais School of Oenology in the 1990s. Along the way, he met Marcel Lapierre and other winemakers, who were beginning to stand out for their original, non-interventionist style. Moved, he decided to devote himself entirely to this type of winemaking.
Marie et Vincent Tricot's vineyard
The couple moved in 2002 with their two daughters to the town of Ocet in Auvergne (France). They had a clear objective in mind: to find the right terroir and the right vines to work with. And they found it. Not only the vines, but also the cellar, the chai and the house. Their previous owners, since the 1960s, also farmed organically and fermented the grapes with wild yeasts, something that helped them to make the final decision. They started with 4.5 hectares, which over the years became 6. "Les Marcottes" was the first cuvee produced by the family in 2003.
Today, they grow gamay, pinot noir, chardonnay, muscat, aligoté and sauvignon blanc on their plots. In addition, on their different soils of clay, limestone, volcanic marl and basalt, they plant fruit and nut trees, which surround and shade the vineyards.
Marie et Vincent Tricot wines
Among their most outstanding natural wines is the Tricot Les Petites Fleurs 2018 crianza red, planted on two hectares, with whole cluster and semi-carbonic maceration. Its fermentation is spontaneous with indigenous yeasts, and its ageing is 12 months in French oak. Also, we can find the pinot noir Tricot Les Trois Bonhommes 2019, made through destemming, with spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts, and Tricot Les Milans 2018, aged in oak barrels. All of their wines are bottled without added sulphites, unfiltered and unclarified.
