Buy Wine from Kollektiv Peternell
The Kollektiv Peternell winery is one of the newest additions to the Austrian wine scene. This up-and-coming winery was founded by three young people with a passion for wine. One of them, Paul Schuster, originally from Hainburg, began his journey into the world of wine as a self-taught wine enthusiast. His curiosity led him to travel in his orange VW bus, and during one of his stops in Catalonia, he met Massimo Marchiori, the owner of Partida Creus. It was Marchiori who put forward the idea that Paul should make his own wine, as they had everything they needed: grapes, tanks and a cellar.
Vineyards
The vineyards of Kollektiv Peternell are located in the Neusiedl region. Although Carnuntum is mentioned on paper, the grapes all come from Neusiedl.
Philosophy
Kollektiv Peternell focuses on natural and authentic wine production. They use a process called"whole bunch", where the grapes are vinified whole. This method, which they call"Methode Tom Lubbe", is similar to that used by other renowned winemakers such as Claus Preisinger and Judith Beck. The wines are fermented in steel or wooden tanks and left to mature for a year. No substances are added, no fining is carried out and no sulphur is used in the winemaking process. Finally, the wines are bottled unfiltered. This technique results in brilliant wines with great luminosity and dynamism. Their motto is "No bullshit wines", reflecting their straightforward and unpretentious approach to winemaking.
