Bimbache Grand Cruz del Calvario 2024
£41.30 (Inc. VAT bot. 75 cl.) / North Ireland
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The white 2024 Grand Cruz del Calvario comes from vines planted around the winery in the northeast of the island, a cooler place with more influence from the Alisio winds. It's a blend of Verijadiego Blanco, Listán Blanco, Forastera Blanca, Baboso Blanco and Uval grapes. It fermented and matured in barrels of different sizes for nine months with the fine lees. It has a smoky, spicy and toasty nose with finesse and elegance. It comes in with 12% alcohol, a low pH (2.8) and extreme acidity (10.6 grams!) that makes you salivate. The reductive profile and the extreme acidity mean you need to wait a bit, but it will repay patience. 1,300 bottles produced. It was bottled in June 2025.
