Buy Wine from Raul Calle
Raúl Calle's winery was born from a personal and family project in the province of Ávila, more specifically in Gredos. A forestry engineer by profession, in 2012 he was looking for new challenges and experiences. It was here that he fell in love with the wine-growing environment.
Raúl Calle's vineyard
The family has dedicated itself to transmitting the character of one of the most traditional wine-growing areas in Spain. Their passion for the natural environment has set them on the path towards their great objective: to recover lost vineyards of the Garnacha and Albillo grape varieties. This is what they are doing in the towns of Navarredondilla, Sotillo de la Adrada and Santa María del Tiétar. They are planted at an altitude of over 700 metres above sea level in centenary vines with granitic soils. All the work is carried out by hand, with sustainable agriculture, respecting the surrounding environment as much as possible.
Wines of Raúl Calle
They make their natural wines with spontaneous fermentation and autochthonous yeasts with the idea of returning to old traditions. They are committed to the natural growth of the fruit, with little or no intervention. They are passionate about the sensation of the grape must releasing under their feet. For example, their Malavara 2018, an aged white Malvar, has a skin maceration for 12 days, and is aged for four months under flor in vats. They create micro-vinifications with unique identities, unclarified, unfiltered and without added sulphites.- ;
