Buy Wine from Pierre Boyat
After spending two decades producing traditional wine, Pierre Boyat decided to sell the family estate to pursue his true passion: organic farming. He longed for the idea of being able to experience grape processing with an environmental perspective. And he succeeded. He soon realised that only ancestral methods allow the true expression of his terroir.
Pierre Boyat's vineyard
Today, he owns almost three hectares of vineyards on different plots in Beaujolais-Maconnais (France). His land is planted with chardonnay and gamay. Pierre decided to make a life for himself, and built his house and cellar next to his vineyards. He produces two white cuvées: St. Veran and Les Rennes. And two red cuvées: Noir de Rouge and Bois de Leynes. He works in collaboration with Philippe Jambon and Jerome Guichard, with whom he shares a brilliant plot. The soils of his estate are clay and limestone for the chardonnay, while the gamay is planted on sandier, granitic soils. The winery, certified by Ecocert, produces around 6,000 bottles a year.
Wines of Pierre Boyat
Of course, the wine is made without additives or SO2. In the cellar, the whites are pressed and bottled after about 11 months. The reds are fermented without destemming and are raised in a large-format wood blend and tank. Very little vinification is actually carried out. Among their best known bottles are the creamy and structured chardonnay, Boyat Pure Laine 2017, the gamay, Boyat Noir de Rouge 2017, the captivating Boyat La Cabane 2018, fruity and juicy, the orange wine, Boyat Les Rennes 2018, a perfect blend of chardonnay and muscat and Boyat Bois de Leynes 2018. The excellent health of his vines can be tasted. Pierre produces medium-bodied, very nutritious reds and ripe but fresh whites.- ;
