Qué Bonito Cacareaba 2023
£58.41 (Inc. VAT bot. 75 cl.) / North Ireland
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The white 2023 Qué Bonito Cacareaba is voluptuous, lush and showy, ripe and round, with 14.5% alcohol and generous oak but keeping very good freshness (pH of 3.16) and acidity (six grams) that provide balance. It was produced with a blend of 41% Viura, 39% Garnacha Blanca and 20% Malvasía Riojana from dry-farmed vines in some of the best terroirs of San Vicente de la Sonsierra, El Bombón, El Sauco, Sacramento, Isla and La Canoca. The selected grapes macerated for 24 hours, and the juice fermented and aged for nine months in new French oak barrels with the fine lees that were stirred weekly until June 2024. 2023 was a healthy and ripe year for whites, when they could wait for the different plots to achieve perfect ripeness and the grapes were picked in the morning to keep more freshness. It has a bright yellow color with some green tints and notes of white flowers and fruit with a citrus twist, spicy and smoky. It should integrate the oak with time in bottle. This has been produced since 2002. 7,000 bottles produced.
