The 2022 Predicador Blanco feels serious, young and a bit reductive, with an attractive nose of waxy apples, herbs and spices. It has contained ripeness and 14% alcohol (lower than the 2021), the oak is very integrated, and the wine comes through as very balanced.

Description
This wine is one of the exclusive products of Bodegas Contador and is made from a selection of three carefully selected grape varieties from the best vineyards of San Vicente de la Sonsierra, in La Rioja.
The soils of the Ebro Valley used for growing Vitis vinifera are classified as calcareous and clayey, prone to water stress conditions, so the fruit develops a good amount of tannins, ideal for wines of unsurpassed quality.
Winemaking
The grapes are harvested and destemmed by hand to obtain a blend of Grenache Blanc, Macabeo and Malvasia. Once the must is extracted, it is transferred to brand new French oak barrels, where it rests for approximately 8 months.
Taste
It is a balanced wine, with good taste on the palate and an olfactory bouquet with wild and fresh aromas. On the palate, its entry is warm and then its flavors develop into a very pleasant fresh nuance with a long finish.

Because of its fresh and light taste, Predicador Blanco is perfect for pairing with fish, seafood or rice dishes containing squid, scallops and prawns. It can also be served with a light appetizer, such as a parfait, or enjoyed on its own. It is best served chilled and, if possible, decanted before serving, so that it can develop all its organoleptic properties.
