Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2024 Quinta Apolonia shows signs of extreme youth. I think it's a mistake to release the wines this young, as they need a little bit of time in bottle to settle. It has a slightly reductive and medicinal nose, with thiolic notes and a core of white flowers, pollen and white fruit. This is a blend of Verdejo from different plots and some 5% other varieties. It's agile, elegant, nuanced and fresh, with some ripe flavors, 13.5% alcohol, a dry mouthfeel and a faint bitter twist in the finish. It fermented partly in used large barrels and the rest in stainless steel. 78,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in March 2025.

Description
Quinta Apolonia is the most varietal interpretation of Verdejo by Belondrade, a winery renowned for its commitment to quality and the authentic expression of this grape. This wine reflects the freshness and complexity of the Quinta San Diego estate vineyards.
The wine's name pays homage to Didier Belondrade's eldest daughter, Apolline, symbolising a family heritage and a legacy of winemaking excellence. With an average annual production of 65,000 bottles, Quinta Apolonia is an accessible jewel in the Belondrade wine range.
Winemaking
Quinta Apolonia 's production combines the acidity and liveliness of Verdejo fermented in stainless steel tanks and concrete vats, with the structure and complexity provided by oak barrels. This unique blend creates a balanced and sophisticated wine, capable of delighting connoisseurs and amateurs alike.
Taste
Quinta Apolonia is a true manifestation of the freshness and fruit character of Verdejo. The initial aromas evoke white flowers and pollen, followed by notes of white fruits such as apple and pear, which bring a subtle elegance and sophistication. On the palate, the wine is clean, transparent and fresh, with a moderate ripeness that perfectly complements its alcohol content. The texture is notably dry and chalky, providing an interesting and enveloping tactile sensation. This taste profile makes Quinta Apolonia a versatile wine, ideal for pairing with a variety of dishes, from fresh seafood to white meats and soft cheeses.
