Description
The Godello project of Bodegas Emilio Moro in El Bierzo was born from the desire to explore a white variety with enormous potential from a land of contrasts. In 2019, Emilio Moro Polvorete was presented, a young and vibrant Godello that reflects the fresh soul of Bierzo and the Moro family's commitment to interpret the territory with authenticity. The grapes come from the flattest and most fertile areas of their vineyards -an unconventional choice in a region marked by slopes and difficult soils. There, in deep, cool soils, a more perfumed and direct expression of the Godello is obtained. The wine's colourful and festive label is a tribute to the people of Bierzo, symbol of a land that has been carefully tended for generations. Emilio Moro Polvorete not only celebrates the origin, but also the simplicity well understood: the varietal purity, the freshness and honesty of a white wine without artifice.
Winemaking
The grapes are harvested at their optimum point to preserve the natural freshness of the grapes. Once in the winery, Emilio Moro Polvorete ferments in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature, protecting the primary aromas of the Godello. Subsequently, the wine remains on its lees for four months, which provides volume in the mouth and an enveloping texture without losing agility. There is no oak ageing: the intention is to maintain the clean, youthful and vibrant profile that defines Emilio Moro Polvorete.
Taste
Pale yellow in colour with greenish hues, Emilio Moro Polvorete displays crisp aromas of green apple, juicy pear, white peach and a hint of citrus reminiscent of lime zest on the nose. When oxygenated, floral nuances and a slightly mineral background emerge. The palate is fresh, with lively acidity, silky texture and a saline finish that invites the next sip. Light, expressive and balanced, this is a white wine designed to be enjoyed on the spot, but with enough tension to accompany seafood, rice dishes or vegetable cuisine with delicacy. A luminous gateway to the Godello variety, dressed in joy and authenticity.
