Description
Constantina Sotelo Gazafello is a white wine without denomination of origin, produced in the micro winery of Constantina Sotelo, located in Rías Baixas, Galicia. This wine is made from 100% Albariño, coming from ungrafted vines over 100 years old, located one kilometre from the sea, in soils of granitic decomposition.
Winemaking
The grapes are harvested by hand, and the winemaking process is characterised by its minimal intervention. The must ferments spontaneously with indigenous yeasts in spherical porcelain amphorae, an unusual method that gives the wine its distinctive character. Ageing is carried out in these amphorae on its fine lees, with continuous batonnage, which reinforces its complexity and depth.
Taste
Constantina Sotelo Gazafello is a fresh and aromatic wine, with a remarkable presence in the mouth. Its notes of freshly cut herbs, flowers such as white carnation and fresh fruits such as green apple, pear and custard apple stand out. On the palate, it is full and round, qualities that recall its ageing in porcelain amphorae.
