Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

The following vintage of the entry level red, the 2015 Tinto was already bottled and ready for tasting. 2015 was a warmer year that resulted in fruit-driven, riper wines. This is always a Garnacha blend with some 5% Syrah and Cariñena from different villages on sandy granite soils at variable heights, between 730 and 950 meters altitude. It fermented with full clusters and indigenous yeasts and matured in French barrels of different sizes for one year. However, this has lower alcohol and pH than the 2014 I tasted next to it, because they had to harvest pretty quickly to avoid losing the acidity. Perhaps they used a little more Cariñena this year, a grape that tends to provide more acidity. The tannins are a little more rustic—and the wine is also very young—and it might benefit from some more time in bottle. 7,620 bottles were filled in January 2017.
