Buy Wine from Weingut Bründlmayer
The Bründlmayer winery is located in the heart of Austria, in the Kamptal wine region. This family winery is run by Willi Bründlmayer, who leads the legacy together with his wife Edwige, Thomas Klinger and Master of Wine Andreas Wickhoff. Willi Bründlmayer is known for his deep connection to the land and his passion for wine, firmly believing that "wine tells everything about the soil, the heat and the cold, the storm and the rain, the landscape, and the people involved from the very beginning".
Vineyards
Bründlmayer 's vineyards are sheltered by the wooded hills of the Waldviertel from the cold north-westerly winds. During the day, the sun warms the stony terraces, while at night, the fresh, fragrant forest air drifts across the Kamp valley to the Langenlois sand. The geological and climatic diversity of the vineyards, with their hot days and cool nights, is where the Danube and Kamp valleys meet.
The Bründlmayer vineyards cover various locations, such as Zöbinger Heiligenstein, Langenloiser Loiserberg, Langenloiser Spiegel, among others. These vineyards vary in size, elevation, grape varieties, slope and orientation. The soil of these vineyards is a combination of primary rock, loess and clay, which gives Kamptal wines their crystalline mineral character.
Philosophy
Bründlmayer focuses on organic win emaking. Since 1979, they have renounced synthetic fertilisers and, since 2015, have adopted LACON-certified biological-organic methods. The winery uses natural techniques, such as the application of pheromones to disrupt the mating habits of the grapevine moth, eliminating the need for additional plant protection agents. In the winery, they follow a disciplined process from harvest to bottling. They use gentle pneumatic presses and ferment the musts in stainless steel or wood.
In addition, the Bründlmayer winery uses the natural rules of gravity, harnessing solar and geothermal energy, and uses fresh well water for cooling, achieving an ecological energy balance. They are also known for their sparkling wine, selecting the most suitable grapes for their Sekt bases and following the best artisanal practices in their production.
