Buy Wine from Bodegas y Viñedos Artadi
The history of Bodegas Artadi has been linked to the know-how of its people, passion and respect for the vineyard, far from industrialization and overcrowding.
Bodegas y Viñedos Artadi has its origins in 1985, when a group of winegrowers decided to join together and start making their wines in a cooperative way.
Its vision as a business project is focused on the wine-growing wealth of the Rioja Alavesa region. These great entrepreneurs were committed to demonstrating that the carbonic maceration harvester wine could also become a great wine, and they succeeded.
This cooperative of Cosecheros Alaveses progressively created wines that were a true reflection of the landscape in which their grapes were born.
A little more of its history
In 1990, under the direction of Juan Carlos López de Lacalle, the winery, confident of its prestige, both nationally and internationally, expanded its horizons to new wine regions with the creation of Bodegas y Viñedos Artazu (Navarra) and Bodegas y Viñedos El Sequé (Alicante).
They are three regions, whose principles are environmentalism, biodynamics and the utmost respect for the past.
In each region with the flagship grape, i.e. Tempranillo in La Rioja, Garnacha in Navarra and Monastrell in Alicante.
There they try to respect the land and tradition to the maximum. Their wines have characteristics of clarity and intense typicality that always emanates from the wines of the Artadi group; finesse and transparency in La Rioja, noble tannins in Navarra and Mediterranean flavor in Alicante.
Learn a little more about their vineyards
At present, Bodegas y Viñedos Artadi has 80 hectares of vineyards in La Rioja, with its particular characteristics, especially in the composition of the soils.
It is also part of the winery group that integrates with Bodegas y Viñedos Artazu (Navarra) and Bodegas y Viñedos El Sequé (Alicante).
Curiosities
The Artadi group decided to take the initiative to introduce the screw cap in their young wines. They consider that it provides better conditions in this type of wines.
They consider that the screw cap is an airtight closure, which preserves the aromatic particularities and freshness of the young wine. On the other hand, it eliminates the risk of cork odor and taste that can come from a contaminated natural stopper.
In addition, it is the most convenient storage option, since the bottles can be stored in a vertical position, and, unlike natural cork, direct contact with the wine is not necessary to maintain its properties.
And you, have you already tried the exquisite wines of Bodegas y Viñedos Artadi?
