Description
From Ribeauvillé, in the heart of Alsace, the Trimbach family has been making wines that reflect precision, purity and absolute fidelity to the terroir for almost four centuries. Trimbach Alsace Pinot Blanc is a clear example of this philosophy. Pierre Trimbach personally selects grapes from some 70 small growers, a meticulous collaboration that guarantees plot diversity and consistent quality. This decision - to work with multiple origins and not just one's own vineyards - gives the wine a broader palette of expression without sacrificing the dry, clean, upright style that defines the house. The continental climate, with mild summers and long autumns, allows for slow ripening, preserving the natural acidity. The soils, mostly limestone and alluvial gravels, provide a vibrant minerality that underlies each glass.
Winemaking
The vinification of Trimbach Alsace Pinot Blanc is carried out with the utmost care: the grapes are gently pressed in pneumatic presses and fermented in inert tanks at controlled temperatures. There is no oak ageing, no oxidative ageing and no residual sugar. This is a totally dry wine, where the varietal expression -mainly Pinot Blanc-and the character of the soil mark the final profile. A brief ageing on fine lees and precise fining ensure aromatic clarity and balance on the palate. Trimbach Alsace Pinot Blanc aims here for transparency, acid structure and freshness, not opulence.
Taste
Visually clean, Trimbach Alsace Pinot Blanc shows a pale yellow tone with green highlights that anticipate freshness. On the nose, it displays a subtle combination of white flowers (jasmine, almond blossom), ripe stone fruit such as apricot and pear, along with more citrus and herbal notes. The palate is fluid and elegant, medium-bodied, with a lively acidity that keeps the wine always tense, vibrant, without becoming aggressive. The finish is clean, with echoes of white fruit, chalk and wet stone. Trimbach Alsace Pinot Blanc is an honest, unadorned wine that seduces with precision and balance. Ideal as an aperitif or with fish, salads or traditional Alsatian cuisine.
