This carefully selected wine is aged for three years in oak barrels, which gives it a distinctive lightness and smoothness compared to Ruby Port. Its elegance and delicacy are manifested in an amber hue that invites tasting.
Winemaking
The grape varieties that make up this wine are mainly Tinta Roriz, Touriga Franca and Tinta Barroca, all traditional grapes from the Douro Valley region. The vinification of Noval Tawny Port is carried out by pumping over in stainless steel vats, with a temperature control of 26°/28°C. This meticulous technique guarantees the preservation of the grapes' authentic flavours and aromas. As for its ageing, it is a blend of wines with an average age of 3 years, aged in oak barrels.
Taste
Quinta do Noval Tawny Port has a deep russet colour. Its nose is more complex than Ruby, revealing young fruit with a raspberry character. On the palate, it is medium sweet, showing a perfect balance between fruit and richness.
