Pujanza Cisma 2021
£157.19 (Inc. VAT bot. 75 cl.) / North Ireland
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2021 Cisma, the top red here, was given a longer élevage and was not bottled until 2024. I think this is a breakthrough year for this wine, which shows a floral quality and an elegance I had not seen in previous years. It comes from a centenary plot of 0.8 hectares at 600 meters above sea level in a place in Laguardia surrounded by small hills that provide a special microclimate. It fermented in stainless steel with indigenous yeasts and matured in 500-liter French oak barrels. The palate is seamless, sleek and elegant, with very fine, ripe tannins, really fine-boned and harmonious. It should age effortlessly for a long time in bottle. Only 1,070 bottles produced.
