Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Even if it showed a bit closed and reticent, I found the 2022 Soverribas to be very classical, proportionate, elegant and balanced, seamless and integrated. It has strong granite sensations and very tasty flavors and is high-pitched and with a long, tasty and clean finish. It's a very good vintage for Soverribas.

Description
From a corner of the Atlantic Ocean comes Nanclares y Prieto Soverribas, a wine that expresses with radical honesty the character of its origin. The Nanclares Prieto winery, led by Alberto Nanclares and Silvia Prieto, has built its philosophy on a non-negotiable principle: minimum intervention, maximum expression of the vineyard. The Manzaniña plot, in the area of Covas (Meaño), is a living mosaic of history and Atlantic climate. Its 42-year-old vines, trained on traditional trellises, sink their roots in decomposed granitic sands with clay veins, under a humid climate, with saline mists and constant breezes that bring freshness and natural tension. The grape variety used is exclusively Albariño, cultivated with meticulous respect for the environment.
Winemaking
Each bunch destined for Nanclares Prieto Soverribas is harvested by hand and pressed whole without destemming, seeking purity and precision from the first contact. Fermentation takes place in a used 2,200 litre French oak tank, where the wine remains for 9 months on its lees, with weekly bâtonnage during the first three months. This ageing on the lees gives the wine a creamy texture without hiding the verticality of the wine. It is not clarified or stabilised; it is only gently filtered and a minimum dose of SO₂ is added before bottling. Everything is designed to preserve the identity of the place and maintain the purest expression of Nanclares and Prieto Soverribas.
Taste
Nanclares y Prieto Soverribas is an Atlantic Albariño in its purest form: sharp, deep, saline and mineral. On the nose, austere notes of tense citrus -lime, lemon peel-, subtle hints of white stone fruit (peach, pear) and a marked presence of wet stone and dried flowers. The palate unfolds with vibrant, almost electric energy. The acidity, lively but integrated, drives a juicy passage, with a silky texture and a saline background that recalls the marine air of Rías Baixas. Persistent, dry, with an aftertaste that leaves notes of fresh herbs, raw almonds and a mineral echo that lingers as if speaking directly from the granitic soil. Ideal with raw seafood, oysters, sea urchin, or simply to meditate in front of the sea.
