Description
Maestro Sierra Cream is a sweet fortified wine of great tradition, characterised by its careful elaboration and long ageing in American oak casks. The main blend of this wine comes from two classic grape varieties of the Jerez region: 70% Palomino, which after being aged for 15 years becomes Oloroso, and 30% Pedro Ximénez, which is aged for 5 years before joining the Oloroso. Afterwards, both wines are combined and aged for a further four years in oak barrels, using the soleras and criaderas system, an ancestral method that allows the younger wines to blend with the older ones, providing a continuous and balanced evolution in flavour.
Taste
Maestro Sierra Cream seduces with its velvety texture and great aromatic complexity. It has a bright chestnut colour, clean and with a great density in the glass. On the nose, there are clear notes of dried fruits, with hints of wood, prunes, honey and spices such as cloves, which give it depth. On the palate, the flavour is sweet, but perfectly balanced, with an enveloping creaminess and a sweet character. Notes of molasses and plum stand out, along with a pleasant, long, lingering finish, with a touch of liqueur that leaves a round, elegant aftertaste.
This wine is versatile in its pairing, being perfect both for desserts and to accompany cured and intense cheeses. It is also recommended to serve it slightly chilled, allowing all its nuances and complexity to unfold on the palate as the temperature rises.
