Description
Domaine Bart Marsannay Les Finottes has its roots in a family deeply connected to the land of Marsannay, at the northern gateway to the Côte d’Or. For generations, the Bart family has interpreted this Burgundian landscape with a vision characterised by precision, restraint and absolute respect for the vineyard. This wine, made exclusively from Pinot Noir, reflects that unpretentious philosophy: letting the vineyard speak for itself. Les Finottes is the estate’s monopole, situated on sandy soils that lend finesse and a particularly delicate expression. In an appellation with its own distinct identity such as Marsannay, where reds, whites and rosés coexist, Domaine Bart has committed to viticulture with an organic sensibility, always prioritising the transparency of the terroir over any cellar manipulation.
Winemaking
The winemaking process for Domaine Bart Marsannay Les Finottes follows a principle of minimal intervention and maximum precision. The grapes are harvested by hand to preserve their integrity, and fermentation is carried out with great care to respect the purity of the fruit and the character of the soil. Ageing takes place in a combination of 228-litre Burgundian barrels and a 600-litre foudre, a combination that provides slow oxygenation, texture and complexity without overshadowing the wine’s identity. After its finishing, the wine is bottled with minimal intervention to preserve its energy and mineral character intact.
Taste
In the glass, Domaine Bart Marsannay Les Finottes appears serious, refined and restrained. The nose offers red fruit, tart cherry, raspberry and redcurrant, always accompanied by an earthy, spicy undertone. On the palate, it is dry, straightforward and vibrant, with a fresh acidity that sets the pace and gives the wine an elegant length. The tannins are fine, polished and perfectly integrated. This is not an exuberant Burgundian Pinot Noir, but a wine of tension, subtlety and silky texture, where the fruit never overpowers the terroir. The finish leaves a fresh, flavourful and mineral sensation that invites you to keep drinking.
