Brandy Tradición Solera Gran Reserva
£91.45 (Inc. VAT bot. 70 cl.) / North Ireland

Description
From its origin, Brandy Tradición Solera Gran Reserva embodies a declaration of principles: absolute respect for time, tradition and the land of Jerez. Made from three historic soleras dating back to the early 20th century, this brandy is the result of a careful blend of holandas and aguardientes aged in American oak casks that previously contained oloroso. With a very limited production of only 3,000 bottles per year, each one numbered, this distillate represents a firm commitment to excellence and heritage. Its average age of 25 years and its ageing under the criaderas and soleras system reflect the artisanal mastery of Bodegas Tradición, a house that has managed to combine history and authenticity with a purist approach.
Winemaking
The production process of Brandy Tradición Solera Gran Reserva begins with wine distillates (holandas), selected for their finesse and character. These are aged for decades in casks filled with oloroso, which add complexity and depth. Through the dynamic system of criaderas and soleras, the younger distillates are gradually blended with much older ones, obtaining an exceptional harmony. Brandy Tradición Solera Gran Reserva is bottled without cold filtering or the addition of colouring agents, thus preserving its purity.
Taste
On the nose, Brandy Tradición Solera Gran Reserva displays a deep and sober aromatic range: notes of old wood, nutmeg, clove and bitter cocoa intertwine with hints of sultanas, toasted hazelnuts and sweet tobacco. Oxidative ageing brings echoes of burnt caramel and warm spices. The palate is dry, ample and silky, with an elegant structure that combines robustness and refinement. The persistence is long, with an enveloping sensation that leaves notes of leather, liquorice and dried fruits in the aftertaste. A brandy for contemplation, demanding and noble, evoking the deep soul of the Jerez region.
