Description

Il Secondo di Pacina wine has a rich history dating back to Etruscan times. It is an ancient 10th century monastery located in the Chianti hills in Castelnuovo Berardenga, near Siena. The estate has been a certified organic producer for over 20 years, and uses no chemicals or artificial products whatsoever. The Tiezzi-Borsa family has been the happy custodian of this wonderful place for almost a century.
This wine is a blend of 95% Sangiovese, 5% Canaiolo and Ciliegiolo. These varieties come from young vineyards that express the freshness, fruit and structure characteristic of these grapes. It is interesting to note that this wine has a slight effervescent touch. The vines are approximately 10 years old and have an alcohol content of 13.5%.

Winemaking

The must ferments spontaneously in cement tanks with minimal intervention. It is a low sulphite wine, with a concentration of 14 mg/l. Moreover, it is not subjected to fining and filtering processes. The type of container used for its production is made of cement.

Taste

Il Secondo di Pacina has a ruby colour. On the nose, one can perceive notes of barn, cherry, manure and geranium. On the palate, it is a wine with medium-low acidity and medium tannins. It starts with a touch of sweetness and cherry, followed by notes of geranium and barn. Despite having little complexity, it is a refreshing wine that is very pleasant to accompany a sandwich or a simple dinner.
