Amós Bañeres, its creator, is not a conventional winemaker. He left behind his career as a pharmacist to devote himself completely to the land, recovering the vineyards that once belonged to his grandfather in La Múnia. A gesture of love and respect for tradition.
Amós Bañeres Diables is a pure Macabeo, born from vines over 30 years old that are rooted in clay-limestone soils. This type of soil brings freshness and depth to the wine, a fascinating contrast to its natural sweetness.
Winemaking
But if there is one thing that makes Amós Bañeres Diables special, it is its winemaking. There are no shortcuts or industrial formulas. Amós Bañeres rescues an ancestral technique: the "vi bullit", a method that consists of reducing the must with heat to concentrate its sugars without losing its acidity. Then, the fermentation is left in the hands of indigenous yeasts for almost a year, and finally, the wine rests for 12 months in 300-litre French oak barrels.
