Terroir al Límit Arbossar 2023
£79.24 (Inc. VAT bot. 75 cl.) / North Ireland
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The Cariñena 2023 Arbossar, from 1.6 hectares of north-facing vines planted in 1910 on slate and granite slopes at 400 meters above sea level, fermented with full clusters and indigenous yeasts in concrete and was kept in concrete for eight months. It comes in at 13.5% alcohol with a pH of 3.57. It's paler and more delicate than the Dits del Terra from this same vintage; Cariñena has the ability to keep the acidity, and the 2023s are paler than ever, harvested earlier than ever. The wines are fine-boned but with depth and weight, with marked flavors. They managed the vintage quite well after the experience with 2022, and in 2024, they did even better, apparently, and Dominik Huber was ecstatic about the quality of the 2024s. This is finer-boned than Dits del Terra, perhaps the most expressive of the 2023 reds. This is a super-fine and elegant Cariñena! 4,600 bottles produced. It was bottled in May 2024.
