Description

RODA I Blanco is a singular white wine that emerges after years of testing by Bodegas Roda, known for its focus on innovation and quality in wine production in the Haro region of La Rioja. This wine is composed mainly of Viura grapes, complemented with small proportions of Malvasía de Rioja and Garnacha Blanca. The grapes come from the winery's oldest vineyards, planted on the highest slopes. These plots are known for their poor soil, formed by sedimentary rocks, mainly sandstone and limestone marl, which offer ideal conditions for white varieties.

Winemaking

The production process of RODA I Blanco begins with maceration in French oak vats, followed by fermentation in these same vats and in bocoyes of the same material, which provides a perfect integration of the wood with the wine. RODA I White is aged for 18 months in French oak bocoyes and spends a further 18 months in the bottle before being released onto the market, which gives it a unique complexity. An additional fact about this wine is that its stabilisation is carried out by natural methods, which respects the integrity and purity of the final product.

Taste

RODA I Blanco has a delicate and expressive aromatic profile, where notes of grapefruit peel, quince and white-fleshed peach predominate, accompanied by floral hints of elderberry. On the palate, this wine stands out for its volume and a fat but balanced texture, thanks to its ageing in oak. The acidity is remarkable, providing a continuous sensation of freshness and enhancing the fruity flavours that return in the aftertaste. In addition, the wine shows an elegant mineral touch, a product of the limestone soils where the vines grow. This mineral nerve, together with a subtle bitterness and a great persistence, makes this wine a perfect choice to accompany gastronomic dishes with an autumnal character, always maintaining a vibrant freshness.
This wine has a remarkable balance between structure and freshness, which gives it great ageing potential, allowing it to develop and evolve in the bottle over the years.
