Oxer Buruzagi 2023
£99.25 (Inc. VAT bot. 75 cl.) / North Ireland
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The second vintage of a mostly Garnacha red is the 2023 Buruzagi, produced with a majority of Garnacha from the village of Camprovín and some Monastel Riojano (Morate) and a small portion of white grapes, Viura and Garnacha Blanca. It fermented in stainless steel and matured in 600-liter barrels for 10 months. It feels more Mediterranean than the rest of the reds from 2023, with notes of esparto grass, dry hay and straw, with a lactic hint and abundant, slightly dusty tannins. It's ripe at 14.5% alcohol, keeping a low pH of 3.4. This is an earthier and more rustic expression here. Only 900 bottles were filled in September 2024.
