Description
Niepoort has introduced the world to a wine that is naturally "cool and funky" with its Nat Cool. This innovative approach brings together several producers with the aim of creating light, easy-drinking wines. In the Bairrada region, they have produced Drink Me, the first Nat Cool, where they aim to show a different and elegant side of the Baga grape variety. It is an incredibly light and accessible wine that simply begs to be enjoyed - welcome to the world of Nat Cool!
Winemaking
Drink Me Nat Cool Bairrada comes from several blocks of old vineyards between 80 to 100 years old where clay-limestone soils predominate. It was vinified in stainless steel tanks, where the wine fermented for 5 weeks, before undergoing malolactic fermentation and a period of ageing in these same steel tanks. The wine was bottled unfiltered in one-litre bottles with 12% alcohol and minimal sulphur added.
Taste
Light and lively in colour, this wine offers a bouquet that faithfully reflects the character of the Baga grape variety and the Bairrada region: fresh, floral, with notes of aromatic herbs and red fruits. On the palate, it is round but light and crisp. It finishes with an almost spicy note, with a slight astringency that gives the wine even more personality. A simple wine suitable for any occasion, serve chilled and enjoy its natural freshness!
