Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2019 Marañones was cropped from a warmer year and shows a more Mediterranean profile in the style of 2017, aromatic with notes of herbs and spices, with more berries and less flowers than cooler years like 2018 or 2020 (that I tasted next to it). In general, the style of the vintages is quite evident; here, there's less complexity, it's more fruit-driven and there's a little more tannin. It was bottled after 14 to 15 months in oak foudre, and a part of the wine spent the last few months of its élevage in concrete to fine-tune the tannins. 11,468 bottles produced. It was bottled in July 2021.
