Description
Honoro Vera Garnacha is a young red wine produced by Bodegas Ateca, part of the Juan Gil Family Estates group, under the appellation of origin Calatayud. This single varietal wine is made from 100% Garnacha grapes coming from old vineyards located on hills at an altitude between 700 and 1000 metres above sea level. The soils where these vines are grown are poor and stony, composed mainly of metamorphic rock and clayey gravel, typical of an arid region.
Winemaking
The winemaking process includes controlled alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks for 15 days at a temperature of no more than 25°C, followed by malolactic fermentation. Short ageing is carried out in French oak barrels, bringing subtle nuances to this fresh, easy-drinking wine.
Taste
In terms of flavour, Honoro Vera Garnacha has an outstanding olfactory intensity, with a predominance of ripe red fruits such as raspberry and redcurrant. On the palate, it perfectly combines ripe fruit with balsamic and spicy notes, accompanied by a mineral background that gives it complexity. It is a wine with a fruity flavour, fresh, light and easy to drink, ideal to accompany meat dishes, rice dishes, stews and cheeses.
