Bottled at the end of May 2019, the 2018 Rüdesheim Estate offers a lovely bouquet of crushed slate, earth, mint and bright, elegant Riesling aromas. Round and intense on the palate, this is an elegant, well-structured and charming Rüdesheimer with remarkable intensity and grip on the finish. I also had this wine somewhere else and was rather disappointed from its rather clumsy and not very inspiring performance, especially compared to the Rauenthal Estate. Now, however, it's a real Breuer full of character and mineral tension. Tasted in August 2019.

Description
Georg Breuer Rüdesheim Estate is a wine that represents through its character and palate, the different attributes of the vineyards located in Rüdesheim, Rauenthal and Lorch. These sites offer a unique combination of minerality and fruity aromas. While Rüdesheim and Lorch bring strong minerality and stone fruit aromas from steep slate and quartz soils, Rauenthal stands out for its fine citrus aromas from clay and gravel soils and deep phyllitic slate.
Winemaking
This wine comes from south-facing vineyards protected by the Taunus mountain range, a reliable source of one of the best Riesling wines in the country. The Rüdesheim vineyards are dominated by quartzite, slate and clayey gravel soils.
Taste
Georg Breuer Rüdesheim Estate has a bright yellow colour with green highlights. Its delicate aromas are reminiscent of red apples and fresh herbs. On the palate, it is enveloping, direct and fresh, framed by mineral hints. It has a strong acidity structure with a fine spicy aftertaste. With an alcohol content of 11.5%, a residual sugar of 7.5g/l and a total acidity of 9.2g/l, this wine is not only a delight on its own, but is also perfect with dishes such as marinated salmon, smoked duck pâté, grilled sea bass and spicy cream cheese.
