Description
From the heart of the Beaujolais wine region in France, Domaine De La Grand Cour Fleurie Clos De La Grand Cour represents an oenological gem, a reflection of the Dutraive family's meticulous care and passion for viticulture. This wine, born of a unique terroir and a rich winemaking tradition, is a testimony to the harmony between nature and the winemaker's art.
Domaine De La Grand Cour Fleurie Clos De La Grand Cour is located in the south of the Fleurie appellation, about 300 metres above sea level. The plot, a 6.4 hectare monopoly belonging to the Dutraive family, is characterised by its granitic soil, which brings a unique complexity to the wine.
The wine is made from the youngest vines in the clos, with an average age of 45 years, covering almost 5 hectares. The wine benefits from the Gamay variety, known for its expressiveness and elegance. The viticulture is practised organically, certified since 2009, without the use of chemical fertilisers or herbicides, ensuring a wine that faithfully reflects its origin.
Winemaking
The grapes are harvested by hand, followed by a cold carbonic maceration to bring out the fruitiness of the Gamay. Fermentation is carried out with indigenous yeasts and without the use of sulphur dioxide in vinification or ageing. The wine is aged for 7 months, 50% in oak barrels and 50% in foudres, which gives it remarkable structure and complexity. Moreover, the wine is neither clarified nor filtered, maintaining its pure and authentic character.
Taste
Domaine De La Grand Cour Fleurie Clos De La Grand Cour is a wine with a pronounced aromatic intensity, highlighting floral notes, red fruits such as raspberry and cherry, and spicy touches derived from the carbonic maceration and its ageing in French oak. On the palate, it is dry but fruity, with medium-high acidity, medium tannins and well-integrated alcohol. Its flavour is intense and persistent, with a juicy and mineral finish. This wine is a true expression of the Fleurie terroir, offering a unique and memorable sensory experience.
