Doix Murmuri 2023 Magnum
£58.79 (Inc. VAT bot. 150 cl.) / North Ireland
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The white 2023 Murmuri is mostly Garnacha Blanca with some 10% Macabeo. It has a very young nose with notes of apples and bay leaf and is still a little reductive (it was bottled one month before I tasted it). 2023 was another warm and dry year, but some rain in May saved the vintage in Poboleda. The grapes were pressed by a pneumatic press, the wine fermented in stainless steel with neutral yeasts, malolactic was blocked, and they kept the wine with the lees and weekly bâtonnage for three months. It has a tender palate with some balsamic flavors and integrated acidity. It has 13% alcohol with a pH of 3.0. 18,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in February 2024.
