Dido Blanc 2024 Magnum
£46.19 (Inc. VAT bot. 150 cl.) / North Ireland
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2024 Dido Blanc is only Macabeo and had skin contact, but it's only 35% of the volume. The varieties are aged separately for one year until they are blended and put in concrete until bottling for a longer time, some 18 or 19 months now. It's always the same vineyards and therefore a similar blend of over 50% Macabeo and Garnacha Blanca, maybe 30%, and the rest Xarel.lo. The Xarel.lo is from granite soils, and the rest are on limestone, which gives a little more freshness and tension. This follows the path of 2023 with an extra kick of freshness, contained ripeness, an expressive nose, a gentle texture and a dry finish. 15,000 bottles produced.
