Cuentaviñas Tinto Fino 2023
£52.00 (Inc. VAT bot. 75 cl.) / North Ireland
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2023 Tinto Fino, when tasted in the context of the wines from Rioja, feels plumper, a little more rustic and riper, hitting 14.5% alcohol. It was produced with grapes from seven hectares in 11 plots in the villages of Pedrosa de Duero, Roa, Anguix, Quintanamanvirgo, Tortoles de Esgueva and Gumiel del Mercado, vineyards planted between 1936 and 1958 at 780 to 900 meters above sea level. The destemmed grapes fermented in small French oak vats, and the wine matured in French barriques for 12 months, including malolactic, and then spent eight more months in concrete while waiting to be bottled. It's ripe and has round tannins and a slight bitterness in the finish. 10,578 bottles produced. It was bottled in June 2025.
