Description
Clos Lentiscus Perill Blanc is a single varietal Xarel-lo white wine produced by the Clos Lentiscus winery in the Penedès DO (Catalonia).
This wine has been made from grapes coming from vineyards planted in 1938 in the Garraf Natural Park on calcareous and "sauló" soils. This is the name given to the granitic sand of the Catalan Mediterranean area. The vineyards have been cultivated under the principles of biodynamic agriculture.
Elaboration
For the production of this white wine, the grapes are harvested by hand and previously selected at the vineyard.
On arrival at the winery, the grapes are fermented in 300-litre terracotta amphorae. Afterwards, the white wine rests in these same amphorae for 6 months with periodic "bâttonages".
This wine is gently filtered to maintain its maximum expression.
Taste
Clos Lentiscus Perill Blanc has intense fruity and herbal aromas. It is fresh on the palate, tasty, friendly and very pleasant, with a good acidity and a long finish.
