Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, the 2018 Cote de Baleau offers notes of prunes, baked blackberries and sautéed herbs with hints of tobacco, new leather and damp soil. The full-bodied palate delivers vaguely defined dried berry and herbal flavors with a chewy texture and soft acidity, finishing a tad hard and rustic.
