Description
Christian Tschida Himmel Auf Erden Weiss comes from vineyards with vines up to 60 years old, which gives it a unique richness and complexity. It is made mainly from the Grüner Veltliner variety, an indigenous grape grown on limestone soils, which gives it a distinctive mineral character.
Winemaking
The grapes are harvested by hand, destemmed and then trodden by foot. This ancestral method allows the grape juice to be extracted in a gentle and natural way. Fermentation is carried out in large vats with indigenous yeasts and without racking. After this process, the wine is aged for 1 year in oak barrels of between 500 and 1,500 litres. Finally, it is bottled without fining or filtering and without the addition of sulphur.
Taste
Christian Tschida Himmel Auf Erden Weiss is a real explosion of flavours and aromas. In the mouth, it is like biting into a freshly picked juicy peach during a picnic by the sea. It has a mineral precision, with delicate, bright stone fruit notes. In addition, its contact with skins and its ageing in neutral oak for a year give it additional notes of honey, elderflower, orange blossom, apricot, orange zest, pineapple, dried herbs, stone, yeast and grass. The finish is long and lingering, leaving a lasting impression on the palate.
