Features

Description

Bernard Baudry Chinon Le Domaine is a wine that stands out for its fine tannin structure. This red wine is made from 100% Cabernet Franc. The vineyards, with an average age of 30 to 35 years, are located on plateau soils with 70% sand over limestone and 30% gravel.

Winemaking

Vinification is carried out with a manual harvest, followed by a two-week fermentation in cement tanks. Ageing is carried out for fifteen months in unlined cement or oak vats, without filtration, and bottling takes place two springs after the harvest. This winemaking and ageing process gives the wine a remarkable minerality and freshness, attributes that make it suitable for ageing between 5 and 10 years.

Taste

Bernard Baudry Chinon Le Domaine offers a complex and enveloping taste experience. On the nose, aromas of dark wild berries, spices and a touch of smoke combine with animal notes. On the palate, the wine is juicy and taut, with a layered texture that wraps around the palate. Structured tannins add firmness to the wine, culminating in an almost dry finish. This balance between acidity and tannic structure allows the wine to be both enjoyable in its youth and suitable for ageing, developing greater depth and complexity over time.
