Description
Avan Tinto is a flagship wine of Bodegas y Viñedos Juan Manuel Burgos, a winery with deep roots in the Ribera del Duero DO. Founded in 1996 by Juan Manuel Burgos in Fuentelcésped (Burgos), its mission has been to rescue the family's winemaking tradition and project it into wines of unique character.
Avan Tinto is made from 100% Tinta del País (Tempranillo) grapes, grown at an altitude of over 900 metres above sea level on soils of calcareous composition, with sand and clay. The vines, planted between 20 and 40 years ago, benefit from an extreme continental climate, with harsh winters and dry summers. This terroir gives Avan Tinto its freshness and depth.
Winemaking
The grapes are harvested by hand in crates, ensuring the maximum quality of the grapes. It is aged for 12 months in French (90%) and American (10%) oak barrels, where 50% of the barrels are new. This process, with indigenous yeast fermentation and minimal use of sulphur, contributes to the complexity and balance of Avan Tinto.

Avan Tinto displays an intense aromatic range, dominated by ripe red fruits such as cherries and blackberries, with subtle hints of spice evoking cinnamon and nutmeg. On the palate, it is full-bodied, with a well-integrated tannic structure and a persistence that invites you to discover new layers with each sip. The hint of chocolate and vanilla from the oak gives it a unique smoothness, while its long, gentle finish leaves a lasting impression.
