The young red 2020 Viñas de Gaín was produced with Tempranillo grapes from different vineyards in Laguardia and Elvillar at 450 to 700 meters in altitude. It fermented in oak and stainless steel vats followed by malolactic in barrel and an élevage in barrel for eight months. This is a blend from some 20 vineyards at various altitudes, keeping the older ones to produce a wine that has complexity and depth, the expression of Tempranillo in Laguardia and Elvillar. It is approachable and pleasant but with complexity and depth. It has ripeness and richness without excess. 70,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in July 2022.

Description
Artadi Viñas de Gain is an exclusive red wine, made from 100% Tempranillo grapes.
It comes from vineyards located in the three towns of Laguardia, Elvillar de Álava and Leza in Alava.
These vineyards are located at an altitude between 450 and 700 meters and with an average age between 20 and 30 years located in clay-limestone soils, an ideal soil for exquisite grapes!
On a gastronomic level it is the ideal accompaniment to dishes such as red meats with sauce, sausages, roasts, grilled lamb, acorn-fed Iberian ham, and beef.
Elaboration
The grapes are harvested by hand. Small boxes are used to transport the bunches to the winery. Once there, a meticulous selection of clusters and berries is made.
The vinification process is carried out in open wooden tanks and cold maceration takes between 24-48 hours. Alcoholic fermentation then takes place for about 12 days with daily pumping over and punching down.
The wine is then placed in French oak barrels for malolactic fermentation and aging for 12 months.

Artadi Viñas de Gain is a red wine with volume on entry, and on the palate, the ripe fruit that anticipated the nose takes center stage.
It maintains a spicy and good acidity with herbal sensations and damp earth. In its youth, the marked notes of an impeccable aging can be appreciated.
