Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
There was a wine produced with less oak than the usual wines from Sastre, produced following the suggestions from Spain's wine distributor Primeras Marcas, of which I tasted the 2009 Acos. It has a much more fruit-driven nose, with ripe fruit and a powerful style with less oak; they used larger barrels and some of the wine remained in tank. This wine has been discontinued, but was produced between 2006 and 2009. A rarity within the Hermanos Sastre portfolio. A wine for powerful food, ideal with the local 'lechazo' and with life ahead of it in bottle.
