Description
Tandem is a wine that combines tradition and modernity, the fruit of a collaboration between Alain Graillot, a leading Rhône winegrower, and the Domaine des Ouled Thaleb winery, the oldest in Morocco. This union stems from a cycling trip by Graillot to Morocco, where he discovered the vineyards of Meknès and was impressed by their similarity to the Rhône.
Winemaking
The wine is made mainly from Syrah grapes from 30 to 40 year old vines on the Domaine des Ouled Thaleb estate. The grapes are harvested by hand and, after a short maceration, the must is fermented in stainless steel tanks. Sixty percent of the cuvée is aged in 225-litre French oak barrels.
Taste
Tandem stands out for its intense colour and aromatic profile, where ripe Syrah combines with notes of fruit and pepper. On the palate, it is tasty and simple, outstanding for its balance and ease of drinking, with a fresh finish. It is a wine that pairs perfectly with grilled meats, spicy dishes and the traditional lamb couscous.
