Susana Esteban Aventura 2017
£9.47 (Inc. VAT bot. 75 cl.) / Spain
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2017 Tinto Aventura is an equal blend of Aragonez and Touriga Nacional, with 20% of others in a field blend from Portalegre, coming in at 13.5% alcohol. Lush and fruity, this succeeds because it is still very fresh. The fruit is thus lifted, not jammy. The most noticeable feature, though, is the somewhat funky nose, perhaps a bit of a reductive trace. That will likely fade with time or air, but it does mar the performance just now. Overall, this is very good. It tastes great with a fruit-forward demeanor. It should improve. This, by the way, is the large-production wine here. That means that there were 13,700 bottles produced.
