Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The superb 2020 O Diviso comes from a warm and healthy vintage. They picked the grapes quite early (on September 24th) but with very balanced ripeness. It was the last plot to be harvested (always the last), but the bottled wine has only 13% alcohol. It comes through as aromatic, serious, elegant and balanced, reflecting a cooler place that even in a warmer year ripens slowly. It did ripen well this year and developed a full array of aromas and flavors, giving it complexity and depth and a fine-boned palate. It's one of the finest vintages of O Diviso and my favorite red in 2020. 790 bottles were filled in July 2022 from one single 600-liter barrel.

Description
O Diviso wine is an authentic expression of the Valdeorras region, specifically on the slopes of Bibei. This wine is made from a blend of varieties, including Mencía, Brancellao, Sousón and Garnacha, as well as other red and white varieties. The vineyards are located between 550 and 725 metres above sea level, on acidic, coarse-textured soils, facing south, west and northwest.
Winemaking
The viticulture is organic, with goblet-pruned vineyards and manual harvesting in boxes. The winemaking process uses indigenous yeasts and is carried out in small wooden vats, with a gentle ageing of 12 months in wooden vats.
Taste
O Diviso stands out for its elegance and balance, the result of a warm harvest but with balanced ripeness of the grapes. Despite being the last parcel to be harvested, the wine has a moderate alcohol content of 13%. Its aromatic profile is serious and sophisticated, reflecting a cooler place even in warmer years. The complexity and depth of this wine are apparent in its wide range of aromas and flavours, with a fine, structured palate.
